Canada has a strong diversified society, which makes it important for healthcare organizations to hire a workforce that will be able to provide care to this diverse community. With an aging workforce, healthcare organizations are obliged to look at hiring Internationally Educated Nurses to make up for the huge shortage of nurses in the country.
Internationally Educated Nurses looking to become licensed nurses in Canada are required to register with the provincial nursing bodies. In order to register, it is mandatory for all nurses to pass the licensing exam.
INSCOL offers “Preparatory Programs“ designed to help Internationally Educated Nurses successfully write these licensing exams.
The program is designed to help Internationally Educated Nurses gain the knowledge and skills required to become a RN/RPN in Canada. Students enrolled with us benefit from the expertise of our highly experienced faculty and in turn reap the rewards of an unparalleled training experience.
As a part of the registration process with the provincial nursing body, all Internationally Educated Nurses need to demonstrate their English language proficiency. The Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN™) is the first English language test that is designed specifically for Internationally Educated Nurses and is being accepted by all nursing bodies across Canada. It evaluates the nurse’s proficiency in listening, reading, writing and speaking. For nurses who do not have English as their native language, INSCOL provides language preparatory classes for CELBAN™. The course is structured to improve your overall English competency across all the four modules.
As per a new requirement by the College of Nurses of Ontario, nurses may be required to complete an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Through OSCE, clinical skills are tested rather than pure theoretical knowledge. The proposed state-of-the-art Clinical Skills Lab at INSCOL would provide nurses and healthcare professionals with a wide range of learning opportunities.
