India, March 2014 - INSCOL Academy and GlobalNurse4U invited Prof. Godfrey Mazhindu, from London to conduct workshops on Compassionate Care in Nursing . Professor Godfrey Mazhindu has a distinguished career in health and social care education and training and applied research . Prof. Godfrey has worked in various UK Universities namely, Dean of Faculty at Liverpool John Moores University (UK), Director of Health Care Education at University College Northampton (UK), and Head of Department of Nursing Education at the University of Brighton (UK). He also worked in close collaboration with the UK National Health Service (NHS) and with a wide range of health and social care providers in the public and private sectors in the UK and other countries world-wide.
The workshop focused on factors that can influence the provision of compassionate care. It also outlined the activities that the student nurses and practicing nurses can develop. The participants practiced compassionate care nursing through simulated role play exercises and debrief sessions . The workshops were successfully conducted at T. John’s College of Nursing , Koshys College of Nursing and Management studies, Bangalore. College of Nursing – D.M.C & H , Ludhiana and Khalsa College of Nursing , Amritsar. A total of 200+ nurses were trained through these workshops. The workshop will also be conducted at Kochi and Chennai from 14th March to 19th March.
