The
Department of Psychiatry is dedicated to the comprehensive assessment
and treatment of psychiatric disorders. Services provided include
a general adult inpatient psychiatry service, services for children
and adolescents with inpatient beds. Additionally, outpatient consultation
and diagnostic evaluation & treatment are provided including psychopharmacologic
management of psychiatric disorders, short term focused psychotherapy,
individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention program, couples
and marital therapy, sexual dysfunction therapy, electroconvulsive
therapy, and psychological testing.
The
Department of Psychiatry promotes healthier, more productive lives
through the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of disturbed thinking,
feeling, and behavior in those it serves; to continuously improve
the quality, value, and accessibility of the services.
