Doctors are always considered next to God, as they are the only people after God whom we can trust blindly and they also work hard to provide us best possible healthcare. However, they are not the only ones always rewarded for the contribution they make in lives of others.

To be a nurse, proper education in the field of nursing science and patient care is required. Nurses mainly focus on providing patient care by using rational cognitive skills. Nurses have come up with a great revolution in the field of health care. Thus, to promote this generous contribution of nurses in enhancing quality of life, National Nurses Week is celebrated from May 6 to May 12.

Reason behind Celebration of National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week starts on 6 May, ends on 12 May on the birthday of Florence Nightingale. She was renowned for her innovative work during Crimean Wars. National Nurses Week was first observed in October 1954. Though this week is celebrated to promote the nursing profession at the state and regional level, yet it has not been that easy for the nurses to get appreciation for work they have done in this field. Nurses had tried to get recognition for their job since a very long time and now, by virtue of this National Nurses Week, people have come to know about their importance.

Activities Performed during National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week is celebrated across the world by honoring the work of nurses. Many interesting events are organized in this week such as banquets, state and city formal announcements and seminars.
